The province of Cavite in the Philippines is a good place to spend your holidays in. There are many hotels in Cavite where you can stay, sites to see, and stuff to do like the following:
Visit the Aguinaldo Shrine
Immerse yourself in the culture and heritage of the province. Being the birthplace of Philippine Revolution, Cavite has a handful of historical sites such as the ancestral home of the country's first president, General Emilio Aguinaldo. His house was once used as a headquarters for Filipino katipuneros during the revolutionary era. It has secret passages where weapons and other important documents were concealed. The property has since been transformed into a museum where guided tours are held mainly for students and tourists.
Check out Corregidor Island
The island also has a significant part in Philippine history, particularly during World War II. Here, Filipino and American soldiers fought as allies against the Imperial Japanese Army. There are still many ruins and sites found in the island such as weapons arsenal, bomb shelters, heavy artillery, tunnels, and a lighthouse. Aside from the guided tours, Corregidor also has white sand beaches where guests can cool off after a long day.
Enjoy an afternoon at the Tagaytay Picnic Grove
There are many things you can do here including zip-line, horseback riding, kite flying, biking, and other fun activities. You can find numerous vendors in the area so buying food and souvenirs won't be a problem. If you want cheap and simple fun, this is a place you should check out especially if you are traveling with kids.
Try the world-famous Cafe Alamid
This exotic coffee came from the droppings of the coffee-eating civet. It also known as the world's most expensive coffee. Despite the off-putting origins, the coffee is popular among tourists and coffee connoisseurs. It is said to be very nutritious and has a delicious taste. There is a place called Cafe Amadeo in Cavite that serves and sells Alamid coffee. This is definitely a must-try because it is rarely offered in the different hotels and resorts in Cavite.
Trek to Malibiclibic Falls and swim below the cascades.
Although not as famous as other waterfalls in the country, Malibiclibic Falls is impressive because of its natural picturesque appearance and the large catch basin that goes down to as much as 15 feet deep. It is a good place to camp out and enjoy a swim with friends and family. The trip to the falls is not a walk in the park, but when you reach the camping ground and swimming area, you will appreciate it than the swimming pools in your Cavite accommodation.
Cavite has a lot of wonderful sites to offer. So book a reservation in any of the hotels in Cavite and explore this province touted as the History Capital of the Philippines as soon as possible.
